Licensed Social Worker
Lissa Chleboun
MSW, LSW
I believe that deep inner work has the power to transform our lives and relationships. To me, therapy is a space where we can slow down and—through courage and support—face the most painful and stuck places in our lives. In doing so, we can discover new openings for agency, aliveness, and embodiment.
I work with adults and couples navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, trauma, grief, and complex family or relationship dynamics. I have a particular interest in supporting those who struggle with perfectionism, over-functioning, burnout, codependency, and boundary challenges. I also work with clients around religious trauma, chronic illness, and struggles related to family planning.
My approach is integrative, grounded in the understanding that mental health is inseparable from the body. I incorporate somatic modalities that center the nervous system, along with trauma-informed, attachment-based, and psychodynamic therapies. I also draw from Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Clients who resonate most with my approach are often seeking to understand the deeper roots beneath their current struggles and are open to including the body in the therapeutic process. My intention as a therapist is to listen carefully and bring warmth, curiosity, and perspective. I consider it a privilege when someone allows me to be part of this process.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is frequently used as an evidence-based psychotherapy, helping people heal by accessing and healing their protective and wounded inner parts.
-
Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) addresses the mental health needs of people suffering from the destructive effects of early trauma.
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a humanistic, evidence-based approach to psychotherapy, drawing primarily from attachment theory to facilitate the creation of secure, vibrant connection with self and others.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps you move beyond negative thoughts and feelings in a meaningful way by accepting that your thoughts and emotions are an appropriate response to certain situations and committing to making changes in your life that match your values.
-
Somatic interventions are therapeutic techniques that focus on the body and its relationship with the mind and emotions. They aim to promote physical and psychological well-being by addressing bodily sensations, movement, and awareness.
