Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Play Therapist, Art Therapist
Hannah Schupbach
LCPC, CRSS
I firmly believe that you are an expert on your life and I will always treat you as such. I deeply value collaborating directly with clients, their loved ones and healthcare providers in order to achieve your treatment goals. I pride myself on providing clinical services rooted in unconditional positive regard, warmth, humor, empathy, cultural competency and understanding the social systems that negatively impact mental health. I prioritize listening to patients intently, providing honest feedback and offering a chance to develop skills in a non-judgmental space. I believe all clients can grow and heal when given time to reflect and by receiving continued support.
I received my Master's Degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University and have been working in the field of mental health since 2015. My background includes working in community mental health and residential group homes for years before moving into private practice in 2021. I offer psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of presenting concerns.
I utilize an integrative approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness, Somatic Therapy, Play Therapy, and Evidence-Based Art Therapy in order to help clients manage mental health symptoms and develop coping skills to navigate life's stressors. As a queer disabled woman, I understand first hand the challenges that come with learning how to ask for what you need and taking up the space that you deserve.

-
Play therapy is a structured, theoretically based approach to therapy that builds on the normal communicative and learning processes of children.
-
Art therapy is used to improve cognitive and sensorimotor functions, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, reduce and resolve conflicts and distress, and advance societal and ecological change.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps you move beyond negative thoughts and feelings in a meaningful way by accepting that your thoughts and emotions are an appropriate response to certain situations and committing to making changes in your life that match your values.
-
Used commonly as a treatment for OCD, the exposure component of ERP refers to practicing confronting the thoughts, images, objects, and situations that make you anxious and/or provoke your obsessions.
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of talk therapy, specially adapted for people who experience emotions very intensely.
-
Somatic therapy is a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection of mind and body and uses both talk therapy and physical therapies for holistic healing.
